Who We Are
Founded in March 2025, EcoRise South Sudan (ERSS) is a grassroots, community-led movement formed in response to the triple challenge of climate degradation, social injustice, and digital exclusion in South Sudan. While not yet formally registered as an NGO, ERSS operates as a growing coalition of South Sudanese environmentalists, peacebuilders, educators, and tech innovators working together to ignite change from the ground up.
Our strength lies in community-driven solutions—where youth, women, and marginalized voices take the lead in shaping a more resilient and inclusive future.

Our Mission
To unite South Sudan’s communities to rise stronger by tackling climate threats with innovation, bridging divides with technology, and empowering women and youth to lead a just, green, and peaceful future.
Climate Resilience & Environmental Protection
We promote sustainable practices like solar cooking, tree planting, and environmental education to help communities fight climate change and protect natural resources.
Peace, Inclusion & Empowerment
We build social cohesion by training youth and women as peacebuilders, advocating for gender equality, and preventing GBV through community education and leadership programs.
Digital Access & Education for All
We bridge the digital divide with ICT training, coding, and freelancing programs, while strengthening grassroots education through teacher development and girls’ education advocacy.
Healthy Lives & Sustainable Livelihoods
We support green job creation, climate-smart agriculture, and clean water and sanitation initiatives to build safer, healthier, and economically resilient communities.
